Self drive route through Las Alpujarras, Granada, Spain
We will start the route from Lanjarón to Trévelez taking the A-348 in Granada and after 47 km we will arrive to Lanjarón. Famous for its medicinal spa waters, the town of Lanjarón also has interesting monuments like the Almorávide castle and the Mudéjar church.
After you can continue driving towards Trévelez and on the way stop in Orgiva to admire its fortress. Drive up the montains to reach the town of Pampeira surrounded by cliffs, spring waters and the Poqueira castle.
Other little towns worth the visit on the way are Capileire and Bubión, trekking routes are available from these towns to Veleta or Mulhacén.
End the route in Trévelez to buy one of their famous cold dried cured hams!
