Ritz-Carlton arrives with a new luxurious brand to Puerto Rico, the Reserve brand.

The Reserve by Ritz-Carlton concept offers boutique resorts around the world, each with a distinctive personality and sense of place blending with the culture, history and heritage of the site.

The first Reserve was opened in Phulay Bay, Thailand and we will review it another day. Today we will talk about the second one opened last December in Puerto Rico.

It is called Dorado Beach and it is located in a ground that was once home of Laurance Rockfeller. It offers 100 larger than normal guest rooms, 14 one-bedroom suites on the beach and one stunning villa. They offer incredible views over the ocean with floor to ceiling sliding doors that entirely disappear! Or nice outdoor garden showers and individual infinity-edge pools.

The unique villa, Su Casa hacienda is almost a century old, it was the home of the plantation’s first owner Clara Livingston. After restoration it is now a 4 bedroom VIP villa overlooking the ocean.

The resort has a lot to offer, nearly 2 kilometers of beachfront, 18 kilometers of nature trail, water sports center, lagoons, coral reefs, three 18-hole golf courses and a high end residential development also by Ritz-Carlton. The Spa occupies 2 hectares of botanical sanctuary featuring warm and cool pools, waterfall showers, open-views in all treatment rooms and tree-houses to have massages in nature!

The culinary experience is directed by José Andrés, the award winning famous Spanish Chef. Most of his restaurants are in the United-States but now also here in Puerto Rico to delight all their guests at Mi Casa restaurant, Positivo Sand Bar, Encanto Beach Club Bar & Grill and La Cocina Gourmet.
