Pink lake in Spain

There are really famous pink lakes around the world but did you know Spain also has her own?

Located in the town of Torrevieja, these two huge salt water lakes are called «Salinas de Torrevieja» meaning «Salt Pans of Torrevieja».

The pink color here is also due to algae that produces a chemical substance when sunlight falls on it. They are part of a protected area, a natural park created to protect the abundant flora and fauna. Migratory birds are the major inhabitants on the lake.

For more information please visit: Salinas de Torrevieja and if you need to rent a car for your journey in Spain or anywhere else in the world you are welcome to visit our website www.autoturistica.com and check our latest offers and destinations.
