The Verdon Gorge or «Gorges du Verdon» in French are located in south-eastern France between the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and the Var. The gorge is formed by the Verdon River, which is named after its turquoise green color.

It is an amazing river canyon, 700 meters deep and 25 kilometers long.The width varies from 6 to 100 meters at the bottom and 200 to 1500 meters at its rim.
