As Catedrais, Ribadeo, Spain
This natural monument is called The Cathedrals because of its giant rock formations. Its true name is Augasantas, Holy Waters. It is situated in the municipality of Ribadeo, in the Galicia’s province of Lugo overlooking the Cantabrian Sea.
It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe with its impressive rock formations. Wind and water erosion have sculpted arches over 30 meters high which recall the flying buttresses of cathedrals.
When tide is low, you can enjoy walking around 300 meters paths of soft white sand, entering narrow grottos with spectacular open-sky seascapes, contemplating the great arches. To reach the beach you need to go down the steps, take your time and don’t hesitate to climb some of the rocks and enter all of the grottos.
It is a good idea to consult the tide tables before you plan your excursion. For more information please visit: www.ribadeo.org, for tide information please visit: tide and if you need to rent a car please check our latest offers on www.autoturistica.com.
